Education minister to overhaul Alberta School Act
The Alberta Education minister wants to overhaul the Education Act and I would suggest that everyone send him an email requesting him to eliminate the Catholic school system and funding for all religion based private schools. With the savings from eliminating the catholic system the government can focus on reducing class sizes and increase resources for all Alberta students and teachers. A secular school system will save tax dollars and stop introducing a prejudice to our children so early in their education.
A class on religion should be included in regular school curriculum that covers all world religion including atheism. This would help young people better understand and have an acceptance for everyone’s personal beliefs and religions.
