The Lethbridge Freethinkers is an online group dedicated to Myth-busting and supporting science in the local community. Too often businesses and people use myths and pseudoscience to run scams that can damage our community. This damage can be measured financially or economically.
Critical thinking and the correct use of scientific principles are our main tools when it comes to determining the facts from the scams in our society. Healthy skepticism based on scientific knowledge is the best way to question the everyday advertising, marketing, rumors, and general information that we all are overwhelmed with everyday.
Why do some people that are very intelligent believe in conspiracy theories or in Alien abductions? Learning about Logical fallacies is a great way to understand how your own logic or another persons logic could be flawed. A logical fallacy is, roughly speaking, an error of reasoning.
